Life on the Road

Friday 15th November

It’s been a disaster darling!!

Not quite what I wanted but it could have been so much worse upon reflection.

Managed to hyperextended my left wrist the other day by laying the table would you believe. Somehow one of the fork tines snagged the edge of the table and subsequently bent my wrist into some unimaginable position. Made me feel rather queasy, I can tell you.

After the initial shock, must admit I did have to have a lay down, I sprung into action and applied RICE

That’s Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation to you.

Strapped the whole left forearm with a little help from Dad, it’s surprising how feeble you feel with a stupid injury, and spent 48 hours coddling the injury.

The strapping has now come off and been replaced with an elbow compression appliance. It’s difficult to sustain any sort of grip, even struggled to open the pasta packet last night, and the two littlest fingers are numb to the touch.

Well it’s one way of getting out of doing any jobs on the van this week.

Hopefully the weekend will provide rest and relaxation as we are off to visit friends and have a jolly good camp and natter.

See you all next week.
