Good morning Cheltenham!
After a few days relaxing at Uppertown Farm Carsington with friends the weather once again decided to play havoc with our plans and so we decided to head down to Lyndon Top. Only problem with this idea was the arrival of Storm Alex. Thankfully we managed to secure a spot on some hard standing and managed to ride the storm out for a couple of nights. The rain just didn’t stop, where does it all come from.
Before you all reply, yes I studied geography at school and know all about the water cycle. How many of you are now thinking about oxbow lakes!!
Anyho! yesterday, Saturday 3rd October, we took the decision to head south towards Cheltenham away from damp soggy ground and some hookup. Setting off we headed towards Leicester and somehow managed to get lost amongst the one way system and more traffic lights than is good for a city. Must have had a job lot. City centres and a Trundlebus are not compatible and after a several near scrapes we managed to spot a sign and forced our way across a couple of lanes and head in the right direction.
We decided to stay clear of the motorways and headed for Stratford and Evesham, yes we resisted the temptation of stopping but waved at the industrial estate we called home when we first bought Trundlebus.
After a brief stop for some last minute shopping we eventually landed at Regency Court Park, we are going to be here for a while so we can sort a few jobs out inside and hopefully prepare for our winter venture over the channel and down to Spain and hopefully Portugal.
Sunday morning! I’m not 100% sure but I think the rain might have stopped.
Stay safe folks, be kind to each other and don’t forget to wear a mask.
