Lyndon Top Campsite, a review.
We use Lyndon Top as our UK base and no matter the weather there is always a warm welcome and a fantastic view. We have been staying at Lyndon Top for more years than I care to remember and find the relaxed nature of the surroundings, the warmth from both the wardens and the owners one of the main reasons we keep returning.
The other being the stunning views and centralised location.
With the historic market towns of Stamford, and Uppingham within 6 miles of the site.
Oakham is only 5 miles away with 4 supermarkets (Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Co-Op) and a castle and a museum.
Corby and Peterborough with their modern shopping centres are only a short drive away. It’s proximity to major roads also helps, but the rural location helps keep this little piece of heaven and the tranquility it offers a true gem.
The site is basic with no hook up or showers, but there are fresh water taps liberally dotted around the site and a couple of Elsan points. Toilets for Tenters are available. Yes the site is basic but the peace and tranquility plus the stunning views certainly make up for it.

There are numerous car parks around the Reservoir, a Cycle Shop, Barnsdale Gardens, Falconry and Owl Centre, Rockingham Raceway, Burghley House, Rockingham Castle. Melton Mowbray. These places are all within) easy reach of the site and make for a great day out.
