Lekeitio: A simple urban Aire with services, tokens are available from the TIO in town. There is a laundrette in town as well handily placed near the local police station. Tourist attractions are sparse, a mill and an observation tower apparently. Services are available and blocks will be required for parking. Address: |
Berriozar, Pamplona: Our spot for the night has views over Pamplona. Not bad for a Torquay hotel bedroom window eh. The Aire is free but if you need water you will need tokens which are available from the nearby sports hall. Lots of space, can get busy at the weekends. Address: |
Jaca: A free, for the moment, Aire with services. A nice town up in the mountains though you a good pair of stout walking boots to appreciate it. It might only be a 10 minute walk into town but it’s an old medieval place with narrow streets and it ain’t flat. Services are available. School Busses offer an early wake up service! Address: |
Ainsa: We decided to head further up into the mountains towards Andorra to the ancient kingdom of Ainsa. Well worth the drive if only for the stunning scenery on the way. Parking is charged at 50c an hour between 11 and 21hrs so even that is not unreasonable , sadly there are no facilities so make sure you fill up before you venture up here. The Old Town is spectacular Address: |
San Esteban de Litera: A service stop and lunch on what has turned out to be a very foggy day in the mountains. Nice looking town and when it’s open in the summer bet it’s a hive of activity. Borne is free and it even has a suggestion box. Extra, it’s 1 o’clock and we are being treated to music being blasted around the village via loud speakers. Talk about Gladys Pugh and Hi De Hi Address: |
Cervera: Our little stopping point for the night. Should be rather secure as its in front of the police station. A free Aire and service point next to the tourist office and cafe, oh and home to Marc Marques 2017 MotoGP world champion Address: |
Sant Hilari Sacalm: A free Aire and services next to a sports complex in the town. It’s rural, simple and quiet. Just what we need for a Friday night. Some very interesting sculptures in the area, short walk into town. Address: |
Palamós: la vuelta a espana has been completed and we have returned to EmpordArea for the weekend. It’s back to la belle France on Monday the land of proper bread, cakes and supermarkets we can get the Trundlebus in. Don’t get me wrong we have enjoyed Spain, well the bits we have seen that are off the beaten track, and are thinking of returning for the winter just that this time we will be a bit more selective with our stops Address: Carrer de la Font dels Canyers, 17230 Palamós, Girona, Spain |
Perpignan: Forced stop due to breakdown, our water pump decided it wanted to spread itself all over the road in spectacular fashion. Stopping on an industrial estate yet again with the Trundlebus. Thankfully won’t be on this one as long, we hope Address: AD Garage Jaques Rigaill |
Port Vendres: Trundlebus has finally managed to escape from Perpignan. We now have a new water pump, belt tensioner and a service thrown in for good measure. Hopefully we should be good for a while and able to head back to Spain and some well deserved sunshine. Local Police call at 8 o’clock each morning to collect fees Address: |
